AP CEO signs MoU with NGO to enhance citizens’ role in voting

‘Let’s Vote’, an NGO, working in the field of elections said in Hyderabad on Saturday that the organisation entered into an MoU with Office of the Chief Electoral Office, Andhra Pradesh to work toward activities related to voter registration, increase voting percentage, and deepen citizen involvement in election process.

JA Chowdhary, National Convener of Let’s Vote said that according to the MoU, the organisation will assist the CEO in taking up awareness programmes in a non-partisan manner and initiate advocacy programmes with corporate houses and other institutions to facilitate employees register their names with Election Commission.

“The CEC will provide us with the latest information on electoral process regularly and instruct Electoral Registration officers to ensure that the applications received by Let’s Vote ,” Mr. Chowdary told mediapersons.

He said as part of its activity the NGO would provide vehicle to take officials to corporates and professional colleges for enrolment activity and the same will be extended to other areas in cities and towns of Andhra Pradesh.

Subba Rao, Chief Electoral Officer, said the organisation will have complete support from the Election Commission for its initiatives in creating awareness among voters.
