3 killed, four hurt in accident

Three persons were killed and four others were seriously injured in an accident involving a tanker and other vehicles at Dasannapeta Rythu Bazaar on the Ring Road here on Sunday evening.

According to eye-witnesses, the tanker first hit a two-wheeler, then hit a pedestrian, and then an auto-rickshaw in which a family of four were returning to their home at Gedda Veedhi in the town.

While Kimili Raju (27), the rider of the motorcycle, and Ch. K. Mani (65), one of the occupants of the auto, died while being taken to hospital, the auto driver, who is to be identified, died on the spot. Ch. K. Mani is the wife of the injured Ch. Kameswara Sastry.

The condition of Mr. Kameswara Sastry and his two sons – Ch. K.N. Murty and Ch. Narendra – and the pedestrian B. Satyavati (65) was stated to be critical and were shifted to K.G. Hospital in Visakhapatnam for treatment.
