108 service: DL miffed at Kiran's move

September 06, 2011 01:03 pm | Updated 01:03 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Health Minister D.L. Ravindra Reddy remains aggrieved that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has finally taken a decision to continue with the GVK group as the agency to run the 108 ambulance service for five more years.

The Chief Minister cleared the relevant file on Monday providing for continuance of the GVK Industries but specifying some new terms and conditions to be fulfilled by the firm.

The decision brings the curtain down on the speculative reports which suggested that the services might be handed over to the blood bank run by K. Chiranjeevi, new partner of the Congress party, complying with a plea reportedly made by him.
