The family of deceased journalist Akshay Singh has refused any help from the Madhya Pradesh government but demanded an impartial investigation to ascertain the cause of his death.

After Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met the family on Thursday, Akshay’s sister said, “The Chief Minister promised all possible help from the M.P. government. He even offered me a job at the Madhya Pradesh Bhavan in Delhi, besides monetary help.”

Akshay died under mysterious circumstances last week after visiting the family of a Jhabua-based MBBS student, Namrata Damor, who was found dead on a railway track after her name figured in the scam.

His mother said: “When he left home, he was healthy, fit and fine. What happened all of a sudden that he died a mysterious death?”

“The Chief Minister … expressed his concern and sensitivity. But after all, he is a politician and we need to judge him by his act,” the journalist’s sister said.
