The Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare has set up a six-member team to go into the death of three persons, including a doctor and a nurse in Ahmedabad, by the CCHF, a virus hitherto unknown in India.
‘No need for panic'
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the convocation of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences here on Thursday, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad said there was no need to panic. The government would make every effort to “nip the problem in the bud.”
He said that it was a tick-borne viral disease. The blood samples of patients had been sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune, who had identified the virus, he added.
