Saradha case: ED attaches Matang Sinh property in Delhi, Noida

February 06, 2015 06:22 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 05:18 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

The Enforcement Directorate on Friday attached properties worth over Rs.100 crore allegedly belonging to former Union Minister Matang Sinh in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.

The Central Bureau of Investigation had arrested him last week on charges of conspiracy, cheating and misappropriation.

The assets attached are two adjoining prime properties located on Doctors Lane in the Gole Market area of New Delhi and the M3M Corporate Tower in Noida.

The agency had, during investigation, found that Matang Sinh’s companies allegedly received Rs.28 crore from Saradha group chief and prime accused Sudipta Sen.

His estranged wife, Manoranjana Sinh, is also under investigation for suspicious transactions worth Rs.26 crore. The ED had earlier attached several bank accounts and properties, with a market value of about Rs.200 crore, purportedly associated with Mr. Sinh.
