Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Geeta

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Geeta, who returned to India after 10 long years.

"Welcome Geeta. It is truly wonderful to have you back home. Was truly a delight to spend time with you today, " tweeted Mr. Modi along with a picture of them.

He also thanked the Edhi family for taking care of Geeta in the tweet.Adding to that he also announced a contribution Rs. 1 crore to their foundation.

The event is also being seen as a moment of "feel good" diplomacy between the two countries. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is expected to address the media in the afternoon.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj during a press conference said Geeta refused to identify the Mahatos as her family. Earlier, she had identified them through pictures sent by the Indian High Commission in Pakistan.
