Pravasi Bharatiya Divas from Jan 7 to 9, at Kozhikode

The Indo-Arab Confederation Council, in cooperation with other Pravasi Organisations, would organise various programmes to commemorate the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’ from January 7 to 9, here.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, Attakkoya Pallikandy, Chairman, Indo-Arab Confederation Council, said that Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was celebrated every year on January 7 to 9, following the declaration made by the Central government in 2002.

Fr Sebastian Kanjirakattukunnel would be honoured with ‘Harithasree’ award for his humanitarian service and the services to the farming sector.

The award ‘Sevanachaithanya’ will be presented to the Federal Bank Limited for their service to the NRIs, he said.

The award ‘Madhyama Thilakam’ will be presented to Ashraf Maliyekkal, Kairali Television Pravasi Lokam Coordinator Ras AI Khaimah.

Kerala forest minister, Binoy Viswam will present the awards during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebration, he said.
