Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad on Tuesday urged the Union government to make public the names of those who had stashed away their ill-gotten money in foreign banks.
Talking to journalists after the 14th foundation day celebrations of the RJD here, Mr. Prasad said the government should also bring back the money and distribute it among the poor to whom it actually belonged. He said a policy could be formulated to work out the manner in which it should be distributed among the needy.
He was reacting to the constitution of an SIT by the Supreme Court to monitor the probe into black money cases.
Expressing concern over very high cut-off marks for college admissions, he said the system of examinations should be done away with till the secondary level. Otherwise downtrodden children would be deprived of higher education.
He said it would not be proper to expect poor children to compete with the well-off and score as high as 100 percent.
Criticising Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he charged that law and order in the State had gone for a toss and corruption was rampant. He demanded Central intervention to check the situation.
