Kerala House row: BJP invokes Dadri

October 28, 2015 03:21 am | Updated November 16, 2021 03:53 pm IST - New Delhi:

On a day when the Centre came under fire from the Kerala government over the Delhi police landing at Kerala House on the basis of a complaint by a fringe group that “beef” was being served there, the BJP invoked the Dadri incident in western Uttar Pradesh to defend the police action.

“If the Delhi police had promptly acted on a complaint that could have led to a problematic situation, how can it be considered to have acted wrongfully?” BJP national spokesperson GVL Naramsimha Rao told The Hindu . “In Dadri, rumours had led to an incident that led to an outcry. Even if there were just rumours of beef being served, the Delhi police did nothing wrong in acting promptly.”
