After the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) row, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has been dragged into yet another controversy.

The former police officer, KPS Gill, wrote to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday urging him to probe Mr. Jaitley’s ‘conflict of interest’ and his role in getting his daughter appointed to the legal committee of the national hockey body.

Mr Gill’s letter comes a day after the Delhi Assembly passed a resolution to set up an inquiry panel to probe the alleged DDCA scam. Mr Gill, who was the chief of the banned Indian Hockey Federation, asked Mr. Kejriwal to scan the list of office-bearers, various committees formed in Hockey India League (HIL) and misappropriation of funds.

He said Mr Jaitley, being an adviser to HIL despite not being associated with hockey, got his daughter Sonali Jaitley appointed to the legal panel of HIL and was reportedly paid huge amounts.

'Jaitley should quit'

The former police officer, K.P.S. Gill, has demanded that Arun Jaitley resign as Union Minister or as member of the advisory body of Hockey India League (HIL) for “conflict of interest” and his role in getting his daughter appointed to the legal committee of the national hockey body.

In his letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, he said the time had come to stop “this Frankenstein Monster who will finish the game of hockey in this country.”

Highlighting the massive corruption and misrule, Mr. Gill wrote that a player was suspended after he asked for high quality food to be served to them in the training camps.

The AAP government said it would look into the matter.
