The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has submitted a report on Wednesday’s crash-landing of Emirates Thiruvananthapuram-Dubai flight at Dubai to the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The AAI forwarded the report on Thursday to the DGCA representative in Chennai for perusal of the Director-General, Thiruvananthapuram Airport Director George G. Tharakan told The Hindu .
The samples of the Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) used for the refuelling of the ill-fated EK 521 flight at the Thiruvananthapuram airport, CCTV images from the Terminal 2 building of the airport from where the Boeing 777-300 ER left for Dubai, the X-ray images of the baggage of the 300 passengers and the VHF and radar data are preserved here.
The Airport Director said the ATF samples and other data would be forwarded to the DGCA as and when they were sought. There is no information on whether the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority officials will come down to Thiruvananthapuram in connection with the probe.
Two flights operatedMeanwhile, Emirates operated the scheduled two flights in the Thiruvananthapuram-Dubai sector on Thursday, much to the relief of flyers.
