The CBI, which is conducting searches at the residences and official premises of embattled Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi and his aide in Delhi and Pune on Friday, also swooped at his residence in central Mumbai.

“A team of four officials are at Kalamadi’s residence in Bheema building in Worli and his office in Lower Parel in central Mumbai. Searches are on there,” a senior CBI official said.

Meanwhile, simultaneous searches were also conducted at the residence of Mr. Kalmadi and his personal secretary Manoj Bhure in Delhi and Pune.

The agency has so far filed three FIRs in connection with the alleged irregularities in CWG and searched the residences of OC Director General V.K. Verma and Bhanot on November 30.

The CBI had arrested OC’s Joint Director General T S Darbari and Deputy Director General Sanjay Mohindroo for their alleged complicity in these deals.

Former treasurer Jayachandran has also been arrested by the agency.
