Bihar BJP divided on PM’s Swachh Bharat

October 04, 2014 03:29 am | Updated November 16, 2021 07:03 pm IST - Patna:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi may have launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on October 2 to make India clean but the way his party leaders in Bihar were seen wielding brooms only indicated how the dirt and grime was more inside the party headquarter than outside. Already jostling with internal rivalry the party leaders were seen cleaning in groups identified against each other.

At one place those who challenged the leadership of party leader Sushil Kumar Modi were seen cleaning the streets while in another place those in support of Modi were seen sweeping the railway platform and the road.

Outside the Patna airport and inside the State Assembly premises leaders like Shatrughan Sinha, Prem Kumar, Rameshwar Chaurasia, Harendra Pratap, Satyanarayan Arya and Dr C P Thakur were cleaning the roads.

In a veiled attack they took on their rival group led by Sushil Kumar Modi saying the dirt from the party too would be cleaned in days to come. The state BJP is currently riled into anti and pro-Sushil Modi camps.
