While the BJP is struggling to build a political consensus and support for its controversial Land Acquisition Ordinance, pressure is slowly building from various groups who are planning a massive agitation against the law.
Even as a march of 5,000 farmers flagged off by anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare is scheduled to reach Delhi on Monday, BJP leaders went into a huddle on Saturday evening to deliberate a possible course of action.
Highly placed sources suggested to The Hindu that the government was tending towards introducing the ordinance without major changes.
