The >raid on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s office was an attempt to cover corruption activities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), members of the Aam Aadmi Party alleged on Thursday.

AAP held a press conference to expose the alleged massive corruption in DDCA, when it was headed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Mr Jaitley was the president of DDCA for 13 years and later patron as-chief until December 2014.

The party leaders, who came armed with the government-constituted committee's inquiry report, alleged that DDCA siphoned off money from the cricket body through proxy firms. "They were paying five companies which have the same address, same email IDs and same directors," claimed AAP leaders.

AAP's spokesperson, Raghav Chadha, said that DDCA got Rs. 24 crore-worth project sanctioned for construction of a portion of the stadium, but later paid Rs. 114 crore. "Where are the remaining Rs. 90 crore? No approval from Municipal Corporation was ever taken as well."

The Delhi government had set up a committee to inquire the alleged DDCA scam after they received several complaints. Delhi's ruling party alleged that the CBI raid on Arvind Kejriwal's top officer Rajender Kumar was linked to a DDCA file in the Chief Minister's office. "Mr. Jaitley appointed selectors without following any procedure. He turned DDCA into an elite club and common man's sons was never taken in," said Mr. Chadha.

The party leaders also alleged that a loan of Rs. 1.55 crore was given to companies without stating the reason for the grant. "Companies were paid for not doing any work. Mr. Jaitley never followed the tendering procedure," said AAP leader Ashutosh.

The party termed the alleged DDCA scam as Commonwealth Games Scam of Cricket. "Mr Jailtley should resign so that there is a fair probe in the DDCA scam."
