9,500 evacuated by air from Nepal

Over 9,500 people have been evacuated by air from the earthquake-hit Nepal to India. Among those extended relief are 785 foreigners who were provided gratis visas, allowing them into the country.

“We also evacuated 1,245 foreigners who already had Indian visas, including transit travel permission,” said a government official.

Indian teams have so far rescued over 1,000 Nepalese nationals.
