Launching an attack on the PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir on its completion of 100 days, the opposition parties on Monday termed the period as full of “contradiction, confusion and controversies”.
“It has been full of contradiction, confusion and controversies,” chief spokesman of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress Ravinder Sharma said.
Mr. Sharma alleged that from the day one of the formation of the present government it has been marred with controversies.
“This government kick started controversies from the day one when it credited the separatists and the fringe elements for the successful completion of the elections in the state,” he said.
He said that since its inception the government has been taking controversial decisions and “such decisions have vitiated the security related environment in the state”.
He also alleged that in the past 100 days incidents anti India activities have accelerated in the Kashmir valley whereas mobile towers were attacked and pro Pakistan slogans and flags were raised in Kashmir.
Senior Congress leader and former minister Sham Lal Sharma said that the BJP which once claimed to be the champion of the voice of the people of Jammu region have given up its ideology to stay in power.
“Where is governance, people are made to unnecessarily suffer as this government has been marred with controversies from the day one it took the office,” Sham Lal said.
He also said that the common Minimum programme between the two alliance partners was only a pro separatist and pro Pakistan agenda of the Peoples Democratic Party which the coalition was following in the state.
“BJP has given up its agenda on article 370, West Pakistan refugees, disparity with Jammu, Hindu Chief Minister and Chief Minister from Jammu, from the day one they (BJP) has surrendered to PDP for being in power” Sham Lal said.
While terming the PDP-BJP coalition in the state as a “complete failure” chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Harsh Dev Singh said, “This government is a complete failure and since it has come to power, the problems of the common people have increased manifolds.”
Accusing BJP of conceding to the PDP over the reported shifting of AIIMS from Jammu to Srinagar, Mr. Singh said, “BJP is an opportunistic party which has compromised on its ideology just for the sake of power,” he said.
The JKNPP activists also held a protest in Jammu on the completing of 100 days of the PDP-BJP coalition in the state.
