United Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is here to visit his critically ill daughter, met with some government officials during which he spoke about the implication of Maoists taking up adversarial posture towards the constitution of a new Constituent Assembly.

With his party having ended up a poor third to the Nepali Congress and the Communist Party (United Marxist Leninist) and weakened by a split, Mr. Prachanda is seen to have few options but to lie low politically, suggested officials.

Gyanu, one of his daughters, has been suffering from cancer and appeared to have been coping well with the treatment given in Mumbai till recently. However, she suffered a relapse and is stated to be in very poor health at a Noida hospital.
