Pro-Assad newspaper: Syrian state will return to Idlib under Turkish-Russian deal

September 18, 2018 01:21 pm | Updated 01:21 pm IST - BEIRUT:

A pro-Syrian government newspaper said on Tuesday that Syrian state institutions would return to Idlib under a Turkish-Russian agreement after insurgents hand over all of their heavy weapons and move away from civilian areas.

Al-Watan newspaper cited unidentified diplomatic sources in Moscow for the report. Any factions rejecting the agreement would be considered enemies “even of the Turkish army and will be classed as terrorists that must be fought,” it said.
