A 4.5-magnitude earthquake on Friday hit Balochistan’s provincial capital Quetta in Pakistan, forcing residents of the city to come out of their houses in panic.

The focal point of the quake was some 70 kilometres from Quetta in Mustung, the Meteorological Department officials said. The tremor was felt in every part of Quetta, they said.

In October 2005, a major earthquake in the northern areas and Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa province killed around 80,000 people and left millions homeless.
