The heavy rain that lashed the city for just a couple of hours on Monday resulted in water logging in many areas.
Power supply at various places was disrupted due to uprooting of trees, or falling of branches on electric lines.
Clogged drains, and flowing of sewage on to roads made life of citizens difficult, though there was respite from acute heat condition.
Lakshmi Mills Junction, Ramanathapuram Junction, Nanjundapuram Road, Nirmala College stretch of Kamarajar Road, Singanallur Junction, Singanallur bus stand, Kikkani Junction, Sivananda Colony under pass and a couple of other places across the city experienced water logging.
City Corporation Commissioner K. Vijaya Karthikeyan said that the civic body would soon come out with an action plan.
Citizens can send photographs to Corporation’s Whatsapp number 81900-00200 regarding water logging.
The corporation has asked citizens not to dump solid wastes into drains.
Teams have been formed to clear water at the earliest, Mr. Vijaya Karthikeyan said.
Water logging at Lanka Corner bridge could be stopped after widening of a drain. Drains near Puliakulam Corporation Girls High School too has been cleaned, he added.
The civic body has 595.77 km long storm water drains, and the works to clean them were progressing.

In the last 24-hours that ended at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday Udhagamandalam recorded the highest rainfall of 34; Coonoor 25.50; Ketti 20; Kotagiri 9; Naduvattam 5; Glenmorgan 10; Emerald 12; Geddai 2; Kinnakorai 6; Kodanadu 16; Devala 1; and Burliar recorded a rainfall of 2 mm.
In Coimbatore, Airport Peelamedu recorded the highest of 53.20 mm; Valparai taluk 38; Valparai PAP 35; Chinnakallar 28; Cincona 19; Sulur 33.40; and Pollachi recorded a rainfall of 1 mm.
