C. Maran, Superintendent of Police, announcing the arrest of two persons in connection with the theft of bikes, at a press conference in Puducherry on Wednesday.

The Orleanpet police on Wednesday arrested two persons and seized nine stolen motorcycles from them.

The police gave the names of the accused as Rajkumar and Senthil Kumar, both residents of Muthampalayam near Vikravandi, in Villupuram district.

The arrests were made following a complaint from the owners of Providence Mall about several two-wheelers that went missing from their premises.

Superintendent of Police Maran told presspersons following the complaint the police had kept a vigil in the area surrounding the mall.

CCTV footage led to the arrest of the two accused.

The accused lifted the two-wheelers parked in front of the mall on Cuddalore-Puducherry Road, Mr. Maran said.

Mr. Maran said Himata Ram, a resident of Orleanpet, was arrested in connection with the sale of fake accessories of branded mobile phones.
