Seven persons arrested in murder case

The police have arrested seven persons in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old man at Ariyankuppam on Saturday night.

The arrested were identified as Pamburaja alias Thiagarajn (35), Vinoth (30), Kribanidhi (27), Kathirvel (25) Chandru (28), Kozhi Babu (29) and Senthil Kumar (30) all hailing from Ariyankuppam.

The accused had attacked Gopi, a murder accused while he was consuming liquor in his house on Saturday night resulting in his instantaneous death. Police said the murder was an act of revenge killing.

The body of Suresh, an accomplice of history sheeter Paamburaja was found in a gunny sack in Gopi’s house in 2007.

Gopi was arrested by the police in connection with the murder and had come out on bail recently. Gopi was killed to avenge Suresh’s murder.

The accused had confessed to their involvement in the crime.
