Puducherry to host world Tamil internet conference in September

The conference would discuss ways and means to coordinate the scholars who are working to promote Tamil in all aspects of life

The 13 edition of International Tamil Internet Conference will be held in Puducherry for three days in September.

D. Maniam, general council member, International Forum for Information Technology in Tamil, Singapore, told reporters here on Saturday said that more than 300 delegates from countries, including India, the United States, England, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and others would participate. M. Ilangovan, Department of Tamil, Kanchi Mamunivar Centre for Higher Studies, said that Puducherry had been chosen as it produced a number of Tamil scholars, including poet Bharatidasan. The conference would take stock of projects and inventions undertaken by scholars around the world to take forward the agenda of popularising internet Tamil. The conference would discuss ways and means to coordinate the scholars who are working to promote Tamil in all aspects of life.
