Police convert case of death into murder

Two persons have been picked up

More than two days after a 25-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her house, the Orleanpet police have converted the case of suspicious death into murder.

The post-mortem examination of the victim conducted at the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday confirmed that the victim had been sexually assaulted before being murdered. The victim was alone at home at the time of attack as her mother and brother had left for work.

When her mother returned home in the evening, she found the door locked from inside. When her daughter did not answer the door, she looked through a window and found the woman lying dead.

Injuries on the body

According to a police official, the victim had injuries on the back of her head and face following which the case of suspicious death was converted into a murder case.

The police have picked up two persons staying in the same locality for interrogation in connection with the crime.

The police are said to have seized ganja from their possession.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police Rahul Alwal on Thursday visited the victim’s house and conducted enquiries.
