Jipmer’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, has launched two clinics as an OPD facility. A press release said the Out Patient Department (OPD) working hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Registration closes by 10.00 a.m.) on Fridays and Saturdays.
Students and adolescent girls (10 to 19 years) can attend the Adolescent Health Clinic on Saturdays between 10.00 a.m. and noon. They need not attend other regular OPDs.
These policies are undertaken to give better patient care and reduce the overcrowding in OPDs, a press note said. In addition, postmenopausal women can attend a special clinic “Menopause Clinic” every Wednesday afternoon between 2.00 and 4.00 p.m.
Jipmer has appealed to the public to utilise the services of these new OPDs on the designated days, which are relatively less crowded and where patients could return home after getting treated.
