The police arrested four persons for the murder of a history-sheeter in Muthiah Mudaliar Street in Muthialpet on Sunday.
Police identified the accused as B. Ramachandran alias Sri Ram, Y. Nivas, J. Jerome alias Prabhu and M. Suriya. They were produced before a local court and remanded in custody at the Kalapet Central Prison.
Anbu Rajini was driving his car when the assailants hurled country bombs at the vehicle. After hurling the explosives, the gang members dragged him out and attacked him with lethal weapons. The victim was wanted in two murder cases.
Previous enmity has been cited as the reason for murder.
