In a show of gratitude to the All India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi for appointing transgender activist Apsara Reddy as the national general secretary of the Mahila Congress, as many as 100 transgenders belonging to Sahodaran Community Oriented Health Development Society on Monday sent individual letters to Mr. Gandhi expressing their gratitude. They also met Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy in the Legislative Assembly and requested him to make one of the transgenders an office bearer of Puducherry unit of the Congress.
