District Collector L. Subramanian on Sunday inspected the counting centre to be set up at the E.S. Engineering College in Vikravandi where the votes to be polled in the bypoll on October 21 would be counted.

Mr. Subramanian accompanied by Superintendent of Police S. Jayakumar and Returning Officer for Vikravandi Assembly constituency M. Chandrasekhar inspected the strong room and discussed security arrangements to be implemented on the premises.

Speaking to reporters, he said a three-tier security protocol would be put in place at the counting centre.

The entire area, including places in the 100-m radius around the centres, will be covered by CCTV cameras which will be monitored, he said.
