V. Candavelou, Secretary to Government and a 1997 batch IAS officer in the AGMUT cadre has been appointed as the new Chief Electoral Officer for the Union Territory.
Succeeds Srikanth
He succeeds T. Srikanth, who had been holding the post since October 2012.
According to a Government notification, Mr. Candavelou will hold additional charge of the Departments of Revenue, Relief-cum-Rehabilitation, Health, Excise, Housing, Transport, Town and Country Planning, Rural Development, Information and Publicity, Science, Technology and Environment and Project Director, Project Implementation Agency (PIA).
