The Puducherry unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday presented a petition to Director-General of Police S. Sundari Nanda seeking action against Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy and his Cabinet colleagues for resorting to a protest in front of the Raj Nivas disturbing the law and order situation in the Union Territory.

BJP president and MLA V. Swaminathan said that Mr. Narayanasamy was trying to hide his failures and deficiencies by resorting to the dharna and to get a good name from the party high command. He said as the Chief Minister holding the Home portfolio was responsible for the maintenance of law and order, if anything goes wrong he should be held responsible.

Mr. Swaminathan appealed to Ms. Nanda to remove them from the venue. The BJP cadre resorted to a dharna in front of the Ambedkar Manimandapam on the Beach Road in support of their demand.
