The Puducherry unit of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam on Sunday criticised Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy for endorsing the behaviour of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly recently.
Head of the party’s legislative wing A. Anbazhagan told presspersons here that violence in the Tamil Nadu Assembly occurred when DMK working president M.K. Stalin was present in the House.
The DMK members insulted the Speaker by occupying his chair. It was condemnable on the part of Mr. Narayanasamy to support the DMK’s acts, the AIADMK leader said.
He criticised the Chief Minister for not making sincere efforts to bring Central team to drought-affected areas of Puducherry and Karaikal regions.
Lashing out at Mr. Stalin for his demand for the removal of portraits of the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, he said the DMK leader had praised Ms. Jayalalithaa at the time of her death.
The DMK leader was indulging in cheap politics and he should apologise for terming Jayalalithaa a convict. The DMK had failed to dislodge a democratically elected government by indulging in violence inside the Assembly, he said.
Not sparing the Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, Mr. Anbazhagan alleged that the constitutional heads of the Union Territory were only keen on getting publicity.
