Colourful programmes mark Coast Guard Raising Day

The 40th Raising Day of the Indian Coast Guard was celebrated by the Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 13 here on Wednesday. Deputy Inspector-General S.C. Tyagi, Commander, Coast Guard, unit presided over the function.

Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, Welfare Minister M. Kandasamy and French Consul-General in Puducherry Philippe Janvier Kamiyama gave away prizes to winners of painting and drawing competitions for children. University Vice-Chancellor (in-charge) Anisa Basheer Khan participated.

Cultural programmes by students of Bharathiyar Palkalai Koodam were organised as part of the celebrations.
