BJP organises hunger strike over Cong. attitude

January 14, 2017 10:41 am | Updated 10:41 am IST - PUDUCHERRY:

The local unit of Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday organised a hunger strike to protest the ruling Congress government’s defiant attitude towards Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi.

State president of BJP V. Saminathan said the ruling Congress had launched a diatribe against the Lt. Governor as they could not run the administration on their whims and fancies due to the strict control imposed by Ms. Bedi. The Lt Governor has kept a judicious check on the running of the administration, he said adding the strict approach of Ms. Bedi had made the Ministers jittery and hence they have come out against her.

The party had already launched a protest demonstration across Puducherry and it would be further intensified if the government does not change the attitude, he said.
