One injured in perfume factory fire

A 38-year-old worker was injured after a fire broke out in a perfume factory at Panchalampatty in Tirupattur on Wednesday evening.

A total of seven persons worked in the factory, sources said. The fire broke out around 7 p.m. and the saree of a worker, Uthara, caught fire. She sustained injuries on her hand and was rushed to a government hospital nearby.

The Fire and Rescue Services Personnel put out the fire by 8.30 p.m.

Investigation is under way to ascertain the cause of fire.
