The Nerul police on Saturday arrested two more people in connection with the murder of Arvind Gund (52).

Rohan Barge (21) and Santosh Lade (22) were arrested from a hotel near Colva beach in Goa, where they were hiding.

Gund, a vegetable trader in APMC market, was found dead in his one-room-kitchen flat on the ground floor of Gangotri building at Shiravane on Thursday. His son, Anil (25), who is the main accused in the case, was arrested on Friday night.

Mr. Gund had paid his friends an advance of ₹5,000 to carry out the murder and had promised them ₹3 lakh more after the murder. The police said he had opened the door for his friend and left the house on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Gund then stood outside the building and kept watch as his friend killed his father. At 12.30 p.m., he returned and started banging the door of his house. When neighbours gathered on hearing the commotion, he told them that his father was not opening the door.

A third floor resident who had a spare key to the house helped open the door, and Gund was found dead.

According to the police, Mr. Gund, was unemployed and addicted to drugs. He was fed up of his father scolding him and hence, planned to kill him. He has been remanded in Police custody till August 2, and the other two till August 4.
