Navi Mumbai: The Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has invited citizens to participate in a competition to come up with a logo and tagline for the corporation, which came into existence on October 1, 2016.

“The competition aims to create an image for the city based on its inherent strengths and the citizen’s aspiration for a clean and smart city. To tap into the creativity of young minds, we have invited citizens to design a logo for the PCMC,” said Municipal Commissioner Sudhakar Shinde.

The winning entry will be awarded a prize of ₹25,000, while five runners-up will be awarded ₹5,000 each. The last date to submit entries is July 1, and only Indian nationals are eligible for the competition. Individuals, groups, experts and professionals can take part.

“The logo should be reflective of the futuristic characteristics of Panvel. Panvel is the gateway to Konkan and to Mumbai. It provides excellent connectivity through NH-4, NH-4B, NH-17, Mumbai-Pune Expressway and Sion-Panvel Expressway. The Navi Mumbai International Airport is coming up in Panvel. New Panvel is expected to be an educational and IT hub. It is also home to Asia’s biggest steel market,” Mr. Shinde said.
