The RPF has arrested one person for molesting a railway guard on September 20. The accused Ajay Bingardeve (20) was nabbed by Kalyan RPF the same night and handed over to the Kolsewadi police, who are investigating the incident.
The incident occurred when a goods train from Kasara was approaching Kalyan station and was halted at a signal near the Kalyan yard around 7.30 p.m. Mr Bingardeve and his friend entered the guard’s compartment and molested the victim. They escaped when the victim raised an alarm. She then filed a complaint with the Kolsewadi police station.
The Kalyan RPF created a special team to catch the miscreants. “We received information about the accused and we caught him on Thursday night near the spot of the incident. He is a resident of Waldhuni in Kalyan and has confessed to the crime. His friend is still at large,” a senior RPF officer said.
