The Thane police on Tuesday filed a charge sheet in connection with the suicide of builder Suraj Parmar. On October 7, 2015, Parmar shot himself in one of his under construction projects in Thane with his licensed pistol. The Kasar Wadavli police went on to arrest corporators Sudhakar Chavan, Vikrant Chavan, Najib Mulla and Hanumant Jagdale and charged them with abetment to suicide. On Tuesday, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dilip Gore, Vartak Nagar division, who was heading the probe, filed a chargesheet in the Thane sessions court against the arrested quartet, who are in judicial custody.

Officials said the chargesheet contained 600 pages of statements recorded from the four accused in a ‘question and answer’ format. “The charg esheet also contains 250 pages of bank account statements of the four accused and statements recorded from 65 civic officials during the course of the investigation,” said a senior officer with the Thane police.

The police have also stated before the court that the supplementary charge sheet might be filed at a later date.
