The NRI police have registered a case against Uday Shetty and six associates for robbing his colleague of valuables worth ₹12.87 lakh at gunpoint. Deepak Padmanabhan Naidu, a resident of Seawood, has lodged a complaint.
Sudhakar Pathare, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone I, said, “Both complainant and accused are clearing and forwarding agents. Mr. Shetty through Mr. Naidu referred six consignments to Oman, of which two reached late.”
He said, “Mr. Shetty picked up a quarrel over the issue and on Sunday robbed Mr. Naidu of ₹11.50 lakh in cash and valuables, including gold ornaments and a mobile phone. We visited the accused’s house on Monday and found him missing.”
