Khadse sees AAP agenda in tweet on son-in-law’s limo

May 18, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 12, 2016 02:56 pm IST - MUMBAI:

Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader and Maharashtra Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse has accused anti-corruption activist and former AAP leader Anjali Damania of getting cheap publicity by alleging that his son-in-law owned an illegal limousine.

Mr. Khadse said Ms. Damania’s tweet was reflective of the AAP’s agenda against him. “This is unfortunate that a party and its former members, who have never won elections in the State, are attempting to get some publicity by getting into someone’s personal life. Tomorrow, Ms. Damania will have problems with my son-in-law going out with his wife at Marine Drive.”

Earlier in the day, with a picture of the limousine, Ms. Damania had tweeted: “Will BJP Govt sieze Sonata Limo MH19AQ7800 of Dr Pranjal Khelwalkar, Son in law of Eknath Khadse? Limo is not legal.”

The Anti Corruption Bureau had last week arrested Gajanan Patil, who claimed to be a personal assistant of Mr. Khadse, for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs. 30 crore over some land allotment.
