The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has ordered an inquiry into an incident reported at its fourth container terminal, Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Private Ltd (BMCTPL), managed by Port of Singapore Authority on October 13. JNPT in a statement said a vessel named CMA CGM, Mumbai, which arrived from Karachi made contact with the BMCTPL’s jetty at 252 metres chainage mark, which caused damage to the jetty and the bow of the ship.

“The inquiry into the incident is being carried out and all relevant data/recordings are being analysed,” JNPT said.
