Five-year-old drowns at building site

Navi Mumbai: Five-year-old Rajdeep Sardar died after falling into a pool of water at a construction site at sector 36 in Kharghar on Monday.

According to the police, the boy is a son of a labourer who was working at the construction site of Sai World at Kharghar. While he was playing, he slipped and fell into the water that had accumulated due to rain. “The labourer and family stayed at the construction site itself. Due to rains, water had accumulated between piles of sand stored at construction site.”

He was taken to MGM Hospital in Kamothe hospital but was declared dead, PSI Kishor Medhe from Kharghar police station said. “Our staff is at the spot for panchanama and further investigations. The post mortem report is awaited. As of now an accidental death is registered,” Mr. Medhe added.
