The Coast Guard has launched a search and rescue operation to find a fisherman who went missing after a trawler collided with a tug towing platform off Mumbai coast on Sunday.
Two boats and a helicopter have been deployed to trace Baban Pal (42), who fell into the sea after the trawler, Morning Star, collided with Trinton Liberty, a tug towing platform, at 1.15 a.m. on Sunday.

Coast Guard spokesperson Commandant Avinandan Mitra said that Dhanaji Koli, the secretary of the fishing association of Bhati Koliwada, had reported the incident to them. Commandant Mitra said, “We immediately launched a search and rescue operation. One interceptor boat, one fast patrol vessel and a helicopter were dispatched.”
The Coast Guard also provided first aid to six rescued fishermen while its vessel Agrim along with several fishing boats continued to look for the missing person.
The Coast Guard officers towed Morning Star away to Madh island around 5 p.m.
