Navi Mumbai: The Khandeshwar police on Tuesday arrested the tempo driver, who rammed into six people on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Monday, killing five and injuring one.

The accused, identified as Nagesh Madhukar Danke (41), was picked up in Khanda Colony. “He said he dozed off and thus lost control of the vehicle. Besides, the visibility was low due to early hours,” senior police inspector Yogesh More, Khandeshwar police station, said. The sixth victim of the accident is still unconscious.
