Guru Dutt’s 1959 film, the largely autobiographical Kaagaz ke Phool, is one of Bollywood's classics. The movie is about how a successful film director, Suresh Sinha (Guru Dutt), makes a non-actor, Shanti (Waheeda Rahman), a star. His tumultuous marriage is further damaged when gossip columns speculate about an affair between Sinha and Shanti and his career soon slides downhill. The screening is part of a monthly series, NCPA-NFAI Flashback. Admission is free, but on a first-come-first-served basis.

Time: 6.30 p.m.
