Cylinder blast kills 4-year-old in Kurla slum

Mumbai: A four-year-old died and a man was injured after a cylinder exploded at a slum in Kurla on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 5.20 p.m. in the slum inside Bail Bazaar’s Kranti Nagar, near the airport land and the Mithi river, when a fire broke out. Two fire engines were sent to the spot and the blaze was doused immediately. But it is not clear whether the fire led to the blast or the other way round.

The victims were taken to Rajawadi hospital. According to the medical officer, Anushka Chaurasia (4) was declared brought dead. She was completely charred.

The injured has been identified as Ravi Parmar (21), who is admitted but stable.
