Mumbai: KriArj Entertainment, one of the producers of the upcoming John Abraham-starrer Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran , on Wednesday submitted an application to the Mumbai Police, seeking an FIR against Mr. Abraham under the IPC.

The film, which was slated to be released in February, has been in troubled waters after KriArj and Mr. Abraham’s company JA Entertainment got into a dispute over non-payment of dues. Both the companies have made allegations against each other and the film is likely to release in May.

Confirming the development, senior police inspector Ramchandra Jadhav, Khar police station, said, “We have received the application, in which the complainants have sought an FIR against Mr. Abraham for cheating and criminal breach of trust under the IPC. We are examining the matter. No FIR has been filed yet.” The police, after conducting inquiries into the matter, will be seeking legal opinion before deciding the further course of action.

Mr. Abraham’s firm recently released a statement that they had terminated their contract with KriArj.

There was no comment from JA Entertainment or KriArj at the time of going to press.
