BPS supports stand against Mental Hai Kya title

The Bombay Psychiatric Society (BPS), in its annual general body meeting on Sunday, passed a resolution to support the stand taken by the Indian Psychiatric Society against the title of the movie Mental Hai Kya . The BPS also called for the immediate withdrawal of the teasers of the film.

“We endorse the stand taken by the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS). We believe the title is provocative and will increase the stigma in our society, where destigmatisation is essential so that more and more people seek help from mental health professionals,” Dr. Janhavi Kedare, BPS president, told The Hindu.
